Mbozi District[3] is adistrict inSongwe Region,Tanzania. It is bordered to the north by theSongwe District andChunya District of theMbeya Region, to the east byMbeya Rural District of theMbeya Region, to the south by theIleje District and to the west byMomba District.[4][5]
According to the 2002 Tanzania National Census, the population of Mbozi District was 515,270.[6] The district had an area of 967,900 hectares (2,391,733 acres).[4] The district was restructured in 2016.[5]
The District Commissioner of Mbozi District is D.I. Rwegasira.[7]
As of 2016, Mbozi District is administratively divided into twenty-nine wards.[5][2] The wards are:
