TheMayor of Torbay was thedirectly elected executive mayor of the borough ofTorbay inDevon, England. The post was abolished in 2019 after a referendum held in May 2016.[1] The last holder of the post was Gordon Oliver.[2] The position was different from the largely ceremonial annually appointedmayors, who were renamed the "civic mayors" on the introduction of the directly elected mayor. The civic mayor role continues to exist.[3]
