Lindsey County Council was thecounty council ofLindsey, one of the threeParts of Lincolnshire in eastern England. It came into its powers on 1 April 1889 and was abolished on 1 April 1974.[1] The county council was initially based at theCounty Hall, Lincoln Castle and then, from 1932, based at theCounty Offices inLincoln.[2] It was abolished in 1974 and the bulk of its territory amalgamated withHolland County Council andKesteven County Council to form the newLincolnshire County Council,[3] while the northern part was combined with portions of theEast Riding of Yorkshire andWest Riding of Yorkshire to formHumberside.[4]
