Lake Vegoritida (Greek:Λίμνη Βεγορίτιδα,Limni Vegoritida), also historically referred to asLake Ostrovo (Greek:Λίμνη Οστρόβου,Limni Ostrovou), is one of the largest naturallakes in northernGreece. Located in the region ofMacedonia, it lies 6 km northeast ofAmyntaio and 18 km west ofEdessa, at an elevation of 540 meters. TheVoras Mountains provide a scenic backdrop to the north of the lake, which spans parts of theFlorina andPella regional units.
