Karydopita (Greek:καρυδόπιτα 'walnut pie') is a Greek dessertcake made primarily fromwalnuts and soaked in syrup.[1]

There are several variations of the dish. Common additions includeorangezest,cloves,brown sugar, andspiced rum orcognac.[2][3]

It is one of the most commonglyka tapsiou - dessert dishes like pies and breads baked in baking pans. Other common desserts of this style aregalaktoboureko,amygdalopita andkadaifi.[4]
