KLOC is powered at 5,000watts using adirectional antenna at all times to protect other stations onAM 1390. Thetransmitter is on North Montpelier Road in Montpelier, California.[5] Programming is also heard on 250 wattFM translatorK290CN at 105.9MHz inHughson, California.[6]
The station signed on as KTUR in 1949.[1] In 1962, the station changed its call letters to KCEY.[1] In 1977, when anFM station was added, a new building went up. KCEY playedmodern country music and had local news andABC Radio News.[7]
The station was assigned the KYES call letters on March 1, 1986.[2] On March 23, 1987, the station changed its call sign toKMIX and on November 10, 1997, toKVIN.[2] On April 17, 2003, the station became the current KLOC.[2]
