Joshua Fenton-Glynn is a BritishLabour Party politician who has been Member of Parliament forCalder Valley since2024.[1] He gained the seat from theConservatives.[2]

Born and raised in Hebden Bridge,[3] he attended Calder High School, and then studied at theUniversity of Liverpool.[3]

Prior to becoming an MP he worked for Oxfam, Child Poverty Action Group, the Public and Commercial Services Union, USDAW, Church Action on Poverty and the General Medical Council.[4]

Political career

In 2016 Fenton-Glynn was elected for Labour toCalderdale Metropolitan Borough Council for the Calder ward,[5] and served as cabinet member for Adult Health and Social Care 2021–2024. He unsuccessfully stood in the2015,2017 and2019 general elections forCalder Valley before being elected in the2024 general election.[6]
