Joseph LoDuca (born 1958) is an American television andfilm scorecomposer best known for his work writing television scores for the seriesSpartacus,Leverage,Hercules: The Legendary Journeys,Xena: Warrior Princess,Young Hercules,The Librarians TV series,American Gothic andJack of All Trades. Originally an accomplished jazz guitarist in theDetroit (MI, USA) area, LoDuca frequently provides music for producer/directorRobert Tapert, producer/directorSam Raimi, producer/directorDean Devlin and actorBruce Campbell's films and series. Prior to his work onThe Evil Dead, his first film, he released ajazz LP titledGlisten.

LoDuca's credits include 2Primetime Emmy Awards, 11 Primetime Emmy Nominations, and "Most Performed Underscore" recognitions fromASCAP for four consecutive years. He garnered aCésar Award nomination;Meilleure Musique Écrite Pour Un Film (Best Music) and aSaturn Award nomination[1] for the French international filmBrotherhood of the Wolf, as well as being lauded as "Horror Film Composer of the Year" for his score toArmy of Darkness.

LoDuca was nominated for and won theEmmy Award in 2009 forOutstanding Music Composition for a Series for his music inLegend of the Seeker.[2]

LoDuca played in a rock band in his teens, before studying literature and composition at theUniversity of Michigan andWayne State University. He claimed to prefer composition, because it let him "run among the disciplines without getting caught".
