Joe Menosky is a television writer known for his work on the variousStar Trek series.

Career

He graduated fromPomona College in 1979, where the number 47 holds special importance (see47 as an in-joke).[1]Menosky is the writer credited with starting the trend of trying to work the number47 into many scripts.[2][3]

Menosky joined the writing staff forSeason 4 ofStar Trek: The Next Generation,[4] and also wrote for several episodes forStar Trek: Deep Space Nine andStar Trek: Voyager.[5][6] As a writer onVoyager, he usually co-wrote withBrannon Braga. In June 2016, it was announced that Menosky had joined the writing staff forStar Trek: Discovery.[7][8]

He later began work as aco-producer onThe Orville,[9] and wrote the second-season episode "Sanctuary".
