Jamie David Pogue (born August 17, 1977) is a Canadian professionalbaseballcoach who is anassistant coach andbullpen coach for theSt. Louis Cardinals ofMajor League Baseball (MLB).
Pogue began his collegiate career atOld Dominion University, where he playedcollege baseball for theOld Dominion Monarchs. He transferred toSouthern Arkansas University for his senior year and played for theSouthern Arkansas Muleriders. In his senior year, he was named All-Gulf South Conference.[1] He playedminor league baseball for nine seasons. He spent three years in theSt. Louis Cardinals' organization, and the other six inindependent league baseball. Pogue retired as a player in 2008.[2]
Pogue served as the bullpen catcher for theUnited States national baseball team in the2009 World Baseball Classic.[1] In 2012, Pogue became a bullpen catcher for the Cardinals.[3] In the middle of the2023 season, he transitioned to anassistant coach andbullpen coach, serving the latter withJulio Rangel.[4]
Pogue and his wife, Jeanne, have three daughters, Selena, Madyson, and Skylinn.
