Jagdish Chaturvedi was an Indian poet ofHindi literature.[1]
He was born on 15 August 1929,[1] atGwalior in the state ofMadhya Pradesh and after securing his master's degree in Philosophy, started his career by joining Madhav College,Ujjain as a member of its faculty.[2] Later, worked inAll India Radio and theCentral Hindi Directorate as an editor.[2] He published several books of prose and poetry[3][4] and also translated many books into the Hindi language.[2] The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of thePadma Shri in 2003.[5] He died at his Delhi residence in 2015.[2]
