Imperial Venus (French:Vénus impériale,Italian:Venere Imperiale) is a 1962French-Italianhistoricaldrama film directed byJean Delannoy and starringGina Lollobrigida,Stephen Boyd andRaymond Pellegrin.[2] It depicts the life ofPauline Bonaparte, the sister ofNapoleon.[3][4] For her performance Lollobrigida won theDavid di Donatello forbest actress and theNastro d'Argento forthe same category.[5] It was shot at theCinecittà Studios inRome andon location at thePalazzo Borghese. The film's sets were created by theart directorRené Renoux, with the costumes designed byGiancarlo Bartolini Salimbeni.
