Hockomock River

TheHockomock River is a 3.6-mile-long (5.8 km)[1] stream inWest Bridgewater, Massachusetts. It is a tributary of theTown River.

Hockomock is said to mean "Place where Spirits Dwell" in theWampanoag language. The river arises in theHockomock Swamp, and flows south to its confluence with the Town River, which eventually joins theTaunton River to empty intoMount Hope Bay.
