Herbert Albert Lewis (April 17, 1905 – January 20, 1991) was a Canadian professionalice hockeyleft winger who played for theDetroit Cougars/Falcons/Red Wings in theNational Hockey League from 1928 to 1939. Born inCalgary,Alberta, Lewis journeyed to Duluth in 1924 and played with the Hornets in the USAHA where he was given the nickname "The Duke of Duluth."[1]
Lewis was one of the fastest skaters of his day. He helped the Red Wings win theStanley Cup in1936 and1937. He was inducted into theHockey Hall of Fame in 1989.[2]
