Heater's Island Wildlife Management Area is aWildlife Management Area inFrederick County, Maryland. Heater's Island is a large forested island in thePotomac River nearPoint of Rocks, Maryland. It was long inhabited by thePiscataway people, who were forced to leave bysmallpox in 1705.^[1]
