Havu (alsoHaavu[citation needed],Kihavu,[1] orGihavu[2]) is aBantu language of theDemocratic Republic of the Congo. It is spoken mainly in theIdjwi andKalehe territories ofSud-Kivu Province, in the east of the DRC.[2] It is closely related to theShi language.
The Havu language is also spoken in the city ofGoma, north of the island. However, ethnic Havu in Goma are not using the language as much as those on the island ofIdjwi.[5]
