Frank "Stitch"Kyle (May 23, 1882 – October 22, 1929) was an Americancollege football player and coach.
He attendedpreparatory school at Mooney School inFranklin, Tennessee along withRed Smith andEd Hamilton.[1]
Kyle played for theVanderbilt Commodores ofVanderbilt University from 1902 to 1905. He was the firstquarterback to play forDan McGugin's Commodores, selected forAll-Southern teams in 1903 and 1904. He stood 5 feet 11 inches and weighed 162 pounds.[2]
Kyle served as the head football coach at theUniversity of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in 1908. During his one-season tenure at Mississippi, Kyle compiled an overall record of three wins and five losses (3–5).[3]
Kyle later lived inCelina, Tennessee and died in 1929.
