Fossacesia is a city in theprovince of Chieti in theAbruzzo region ofItaly.
The town is located on a small hill on the left of theSangro River's mouth, about 2 kilometres (1 mi) from theAdriatic Sea.
A historic attraction in the town is theAbbey of San Giovanni in Venere.
The town is also home to theRomanesque Period Church ofSan Silvestro, dating to the 11th century.
