Bowl offasole bătută

Fasole bătută orfasole făcăluită (literally 'mashed beans') oricre de fasole ('roe of beans') is a bean-based paste prepared inRomania andMoldova. This dip is traditionally made by mashing boiledbeans and mixing them with vegetable oil, then adding some chopped onions. Some recipes call forgarlic,chili pepper,lime orlemon juice, and additional seasonings.[1]

This dish is traditionally eaten by adherents of theRomanian Orthodox Church duringLent and other fasting periods.
