Afamily car is acar classification used inEurope to describe normally-sized cars. The name comes from the marketed use of these cars to carry a wholefamily,[1] locally or onvacations. Most family cars arehatchbacks orsedans, although there areMPVs,estates andcabriolets with the same structure as with the otherbody style. The term covers two types of family cars.
