FC Taraz (Kazakh:Тараз футбол клубы) is a Kazakhstani professionalfootball club based at theTaraz Central Stadium inTaraz. A leading club in the early years of theKazakhstan Premier League, they were champions in 1996, andKazakhstan Cup winners in 2004.
After initially being relegated from the Premier League at the end of the2016 season, Taraz was reinstated on 3 February 2017 after theFootball Federation of Kazakhstan ruled thatAltai Semey did not meet the required entry requirements for the Premier League.[1]
