Erich Borchmeyer (23 January 1905 – 17 August 2000) was a Germanathlete, who competed mainly in the100 metres.
Borchmeyer was born inMünster. He competed for Germany in the1932 Summer Olympics held inLos Angeles, United States in the4 × 100 metres relay, where he won thesilver medal with his teammatesHelmut Körnig,Friedrich Hendrix andArthur Jonath.[1][2] He also returned for the1936 Summer Olympics held inBerlin,Germany, where he was the sole returnee of the 1932 team and teamed up withWilhelm Leichum,Erwin Gillmeister andGerd Hornberger to win abronze medal.
Borchmeyer committed suicide at age 95 in a retirement home inBielefeld.[3]
