Prospect is anelectoral district of theLegislative Assembly in the Australian state ofNew South Wales. An urban electorate inWestern Sydney, it is centred on the suburb ofProspect from which it takes its name.
Prospect is represented byHugh McDermott of theLabor Party.
Prospect was created as a result of the 2013 redistribution and largely replaced the abolished electorate ofSmithfield.
On its current boundaries, Prospect includes the suburbs ofArndell Park,Bossley Park,Bungarribee,Girraween,Huntingwood,Pemulwuy,Prairiewood,Prospect,Wetherill Park, as well as parts ofBlacktown,Eastern Creek,Greystanes,Pendle Hill,South Wentworthville andSmithfield.[1]
