Eighth grade (also8th Grade orGrade 8) is the eighthyear offormal orcompulsory education in theUnited States. The eighth grade is either the third or fourth (and typically final) year ofmiddle school. Students in eighth grade are usually 13–14 years old. Different terms and numbers are used in other parts of the world.
InBrazil, grade 8 (8º Ano or 8ª Série) is the third year of middle school. It is theoitavo ano do Ensino Fundamental II.
InCanada, the equivalent is Grade 8.

In the United States, 8th grade is usually a child's eighth year of education, aside fromkindergarten andpreschool. It is often the final year of middle school. Some students take English 1, Algebra 1, and Spanish 1, which are high school classes.
