Edward Herman Kruse (October 22, 1918 – January 4, 2000) was an American lawyer,World War II veteran, and politician who served one term as aU.S. representative fromIndiana from 1949 to 1951.
Born inFort Wayne, Indiana, Kruse attendedSouth Side High School in his hometown. He graduated in 1942 from the predecessor of the nowIndiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law after attendingButler University inIndianapolis, Indiana. He became a lawyer in private practice.
Kruse served in theUnited States Navy from 1942 to 1945, where he attained the rank of lieutenant commander.
Kruse was elected as aDemocrat to theEighty-first Congress (January 3, 1949 – January 3, 1951). He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection to theEighty-second Congress in 1950.
He served as judge of Allen County Superior Court No. 2,Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1952.
He died on January 4, 2000, inFort Lauderdale, Florida.
