Dwayne Turner is an Americancomic book artist and illustrator in the film andvideo game industry.
Turner was born inBrooklyn.
He began his professional career in the late 1980s while still in college[1] at theSchool of Visual Arts.[2]
He got his start atMarvel Comics on such titles asAvengers Spotlight andTransformers. For DC, he penciled thePower of the Atom limited series in 1988. Teaming up with writerMarcus McLaurin and inker Chris Ivy, Turner penciled the bulk of the first 12 issues of Marvel'sCage title in 1992–1993. In 1995, he co-created the titleSovereign Seven forDC Comics with writerChris Claremont.
In 1992, he co-created the characterJames Lucas forMarvel Comics with writerMarcus McLaurin. In 1993, he co-createdHulk 2099 for Marvel Comics with writerGerard Jones. In 2001 he co-created the characterOrpheus also for DC Comics with writerAlex Simmons. In 2003, he co-created the characterTraci Thirteen for DC Comics with writerJoe Kelly.
Turner worked on a number ofTodd McFarlane'sSpawn titles, with a long run on the spin-off seriesCurse of the Spawn from 1996 to 1999. He was the penciller on volume 2 ofWildstorm'sThe Authority in 2003–2004.
Leaving the comics industry in 2006, Turner has worked in thevideo game and motion picture fields. As astoryboard illustrator, his feature film credits includeTron: Legacy,Oblivion, andThe Jungle Book. His video game work includes theHalo franchise, theGod of War franchise, andGears of War.[2]
