Diego Matías Rodríguez Marrón (Latin American Spanish:[ˈdjeɣomaˈti.asroˈðɾiɣes]; born 25 June 1989) is an Argentine professionalfootballer who plays as agoalkeeper forArgentinos Juniors.

Club career

Born inMar del Plata, Rodríguez made his debut inIndependiente on 16 June 2011 againstHuracán when coachAntonio Mohamed had to put him in the first team sinceHilario Navarro,Fabián Assman andAdrián Gabbarini were all injured.[1]

Rodríguez subsequently representedRosario Central,JEF United Chiba,Defensa y Justicia andCentral Córdoba before joiningLa Liga sideElche CF on 5 October 2020.[2] He terminated his contract with the latter club on 1 February 2021, after just three cup matches.[3]

International career

Rodríguez was called up by coachSergio Batista as part of theArgentina U-20 team for the2009 South American U-20 Championship[4] He was a key player in the match againstEcuador that let the team advance to the second round where they were eventually eliminated.[5]
