David Ferreiro Quiroga (born 1 April 1988) is a Spanish professionalfootballer who plays mainly as awinger forArenteiro.
Born inBaños de Molgas,Province of Ourense,Galicia,[2] Ferreiro finished his development at Pabellón Ourense CF after starting out at SD Nogueira de Ramuín.[3] In 2006, he signed withCD Ourense: initially assigned to the reserves inTercera División, he became a regular starter for the first team during the2007–08 season, which ended in relegation fromSegunda División B.
Ferreiro continued to compete in the third division the following years, representingCF Atlético Ciudad andZamora CF.[4] On 2 August 2011, he signed a contract withGranada CF who paid hisbuyout clause of€20,000, and was immediately loaned toCádiz CF.[5]
In the summer of 2012, still owned by Granada, Ferreiro joinedRacing de Santander.[6] He made hisSegunda División debut on 19 August, starting in a 0–1 home loss againstUD Las Palmas.[7] His only goal ofthe campaign, which ended in relegation, came on 12 May of the following year in the 1–0 home defeat ofReal Madrid Castilla.[8]
In the 2014 off-season, after a third loan, now toHércules CF, Ferreiro was released by Granada and moved toCD Lugo also in the third tier.[9] He signed withSD Huesca of the same league on 20 June 2016,[10] achieving promotion toLa Liga at the end of2017–18.[11]
Ferreiro made his debut in theSpanish top flight on 19 August 2018, coming on as a 90th-minutesubstitute forDamián Musto in a 2–1 away win againstSD Eibar.[12] He scored his first goal in the competition the following 5 January, equalising an eventual 2–1 home victory overReal Betis.[13]
On 3 July 2022, Ferreiro terminated his contract with Huesca, leaving the club with 216 competitive appearances.[14] The following day, the 34-year-old joined second-divisionFC Cartagena on a two-year deal.[15]
