Dara James Morgan Costelloe (born 11 December 2002) is an Irishfootballer who plays as aforward forEFL League One clubWigan Athletic. He has previously played forGalway United andBurnley, and has also played on loan forBradford City,St Johnstone,Dundee,Accrington Stanley andNorthampton Town.
Costelloe was born inLimerick,County Limerick and was a part of the youth team at Aisling Annacotty before joiningGalway United under-15 side in 2017.[3] He made his first team debut for Galway a year later on 31 August 2018, aged 15, when he came on as a substitute in the 2–0 defeat toFinn Harps.[3] This broke the record for the youngest every player to play for the first team. A day later he signed a first team contract having impressed for manager, Alan Murphy's, under-17 side.[4]
In February 2021, it was announced that Costelloe had signed a contract forPremier League sideBurnley having trained and featured for the under-18 and under-23 setups since the previous summer.[5] He signed a deal withSteve Stone's Academy side until June 2022.[5] After two successful campaigns in the Academy, he signed a new contract with Burnley in the summer of 2022.[6] He finished as top scorer for the under-23 side with twelve goals and also made the bench for the first team for the last seven games of thePremier League season as Burnley were relegated.[6]
Costelloe made his first team debut on 29 July 2022, starting the first league game of the season in a 1–0 win overHuddersfield Town at theKirklees Stadium.[7] It was alsoVincent Kompany's managerial debut for the Clarets.[7]

On 13 January 2023, Costelloe joinedEFL League Two sideBradford City on loan for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.[8]
In August 2023, he signed on loan forSt Johnstone of theScottish Premiership.[9] After being recalled on 1 January 2024, Costelloe immediately joined fellow Scottish sideDundee on loan until the end of the season.[10] Costelloe made his debut for theDark Blues on 20 January in aScottish Cup game away toKilmarnock.[11] On 21 May 2024, Burnley said the player would be returning once the loan ended.[12]
In August 2024, Costelloe joined League Two sideAccrington Stanley on a season-long loan deal.[13] He made his debut from the bench in the league opener againstDoncaster Rovers.[14] Costelloe scored his first goal for Stanley on 1 October againstCheltenham Town.[15] He was recalled from his loan in January 2025.[16]
On 3 February 2025, he signed a new contract with Burnley and moved on loan to League One clubNorthampton Town for the rest of the season.[17] Costelloe made his debut for theCobblers on 15 February.[18] The following week, Costelloe scored his first goal for Northampton in a home win overBristol Rovers.[19]
On 25 June 2025, Costelloe signed forEFL League One sideWigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee, on a three-year deal with the option to extend a further year.[20] On 13 September, Costelloe scored his first goal for theLatics in a home league win overDoncaster Rovers.[21]
Costelloe made hisRepublic of Ireland U21 debut on 16 June 2023, in a 2–2 draw withUkraine U21 in a friendly played inBad Blumau, Austria.[22]
