The bluegrass instrumental tune Old Dangerfield byBill Monroe was named after the town of Daingerfield.[citation needed]

As of the2020 census, Daingerfield had a population of 2,522. The median age was 36.6 years, with 27.6% of residents under the age of 18 and 16.9% of residents 65 years of age or older. For every 100 females there were 86.1 males, and for every 100 females age 18 and over there were 83.0 males.[8]

There were 949 households in Daingerfield, of which 35.9% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Daingerfield-Lone Star Independent School District is aschool district based in Daingerfield. Located inMorris County, a small portion of the district extends intoTitus County. The district has four schools in Daingerfield, includingDaingerfield High School.
