TheCzech First League is a Czech professional league forassociation football clubs. At the top of theCzech Republic football league system, it is the country's primary football competition and is contested by 16 clubs. The history of the Czech football league began with its reorganization for the 1993–94 season following thedissolution of Czechoslovakia and therefore the league became the successor of theCzechoslovak League.
