Clare Dunne (born 1988)[1] is an Irish actress, born inDublin. She has appeared in stage roles with theAbbey Theatre and theNational Theatre. Dunne is known for the distinctive birthmark under her left eye.[2][3]

Dunne's work at the Abbey Theatre includesJuno and the Paycock (a co-production between the Abbey Theatre and the National Theatre). Other theatre work includesThe Cripple of Inishmaan,The Silver Tassie,Druid 35 andThe Playboy of the Western World (Druid),Julius Caesar (Donmar Warehouse),Detroit (National Theatre),Three Sisters (Lyric Hammersmith andFilter),A Midsummer Night's Dream[4] (Filter at Latitude) andCrunch (Nabakov). Dunne wrote and performedLiving with Missy (Smock Alley Theatre). Radio work includesOn Her Majesty's Service andNews from Home (BBC Radio 4). Dunne graduated from theRoyal Welsh College of Music & Drama,Cardiff, in 2009.[3]

Dunne playedPrince Hal in the Donmar Warehouse andSt. Ann's Warehouse all-female version ofShakespeare'sHenry IV,[5] directed byPhyllida Lloyd.

In 2015, Dunne starred inGrounded, byGeorge Brant, in theDublin Fringe Festival.[6]

Dunne's film work includes the shortsThe Cherishing (2016) andNice Night for It (2017).[7]

She portrayed Victoria inSpider-Man: Far From Home (2019).[8] Dunne then co-wrote and starred as Sandra inHerself (2020),[9] which reunited her with director Phyllida Lloyd.[10]
