Charles Nathan Abi (born 12 April 2000) is a French professionalfootballer who plays as aforward forChampionnat National clubValenciennes.

Personal life

Charles Abi was born inClermont-Ferrand in the center of France to Togolese parents. His father,Tchessa Abi, is a Togolese barrister and minister.[1] He holds French and Togolese nationalities.[2][3]

Club career

On 25 April 2018, Abi signed his first professional contract withSaint-Étienne.[4] He made his professional debut withSaint-Étienne in a 1–1Ligue 1 tie withNice on 16 December 2018,[5] and scored his first first team goal in an awayCoupe de France tie atParis FC, on 18 January 2020.[6]

On 31 August 2021, Abi joinedGuingamp on loan for the 2021–22 season.[7]

On 6 February 2023, Abi signed forSwiss Challenge League clubStade Lausanne Ouchy. Instead of a transfer fee, Saint-Étienne received a sell-on clause.[8][9]

On 18 January 2025, Abi signed a six-months contract withChampionnat National clubRouen, with a club option to extend for two additional seasons.[10]

International career

Abi is a youth international for France, playing for the nationalU16,U18 andU19 teams.[11]
