TheBoston Investigator was the firstAmericannewspaper dedicated to thephilosophy offreethought. The newspaper was started in 1831 byAbner Kneeland, and published by John Q. Adams.[1]

The newspaper was notable for its anti-religious view, regarding Christian beliefs with harsh skepticism.
