TheBentley Historical Library is the campus archive for theUniversity of Michigan and is located on theUniversity of Michigan's North Campus inAnn Arbor. It was established in 1935 by theregents of the University of Michigan. Its mission is to serve as the official archives of the university and to document the history of the state ofMichigan, as well as the activities of its people, organizations and voluntary associations.[1][2][3][4][5]The library is named afterAlvin M. Bentley, a former regent andU.S. Congressman, whose widow, Arvella D. Bentley, endowed the library.[6]
