Benoît Brière (born June 20, 1965) is a Canadian actor fromQuebec.[1] He is most noted for his performance in the filmSeducing Doctor Lewis (La Grande séduction), for which he was aGenie Award nominee forBest Supporting Actor at the24th Genie Awards[2] and aJutra Award nominee forBest Supporting Actor at the6th Jutra Awards.[3]
Born and raised inLongueuil, Quebec, he graduated from theNational Theatre School of Canada in 1991.[1] He has appeared on stage in productions ofThe Mistress of the Inn,The Barber of Seville,Le Bourgeois gentilhomme andDom Juan, winning Masques Awards from Quebec's Académie québécoise du théâtre forThe Mistress of the Inn andDom Juan.[1] He first became famous in Quebec for appearing in a series ofBell Canada commercials.[1]
