SayyidBaba Azmi is an Indian filmcinematographer and member of theAkhtar-Azmi film family.[1] He is son of the poet and lyricistKaifi Azmi and brother ofShabana Azmi. He is known for his work in films such asArjun,Beta,Dil,Tezaab,Mr. India,Akele Hum Akele Tum andPukar.[2]

He started his career in mid 1970s, assistingIshan Arya his first cousin, in Telugu films, starting as light boy. He worked with Arya for a few Telugu films, before he got an independent break.[3] In 2020, he made his directorial debut with the filmMee Raqsam starringNaseeruddin Shah. It was released on 21 August 2020 onZee5.[4][5]
