Arikem is an extinctTupian language of the state ofRondônia, in the Amazon region ofBrazil, formerly spoken by theArikem people [pt]. It had many foreign influences, and was once incorrectly classified asChapacuran. The Arikem called themselvesAhopovo; the name "Arikem" comes from theUrupa language.[2]
