Tennis venue in Acapulco, Mexico
Arena GNP Seguros is a complex of tennis courts and stadiums inAcapulco , Mexico. Opened in February 2022, it was designed to host theMexican Open , anATP 500 tournament. It is the largestATP Tour venue in Latin America.[ 1]
The arena was heavily damaged byHurricane Otis in October 2023. Arena GNP Seguros was constructed for $800 millionMXN .[ 2] Pepe Moyao [es ] served as the architect.[ 3] It was inaugurated on 21 February 2022 byEvelyn Salgado Pineda , thegovernor of Guerrero , andAbelina López Rodríguez [es ] , themunicipal president ofAcapulco .[ 4] [ 5] That same day, the arena began hosting its inaugural event, the2022 Mexican Open .[ 6] Later that year, the project won the Work of the Year Award at the Premios Elle Decoration México.[ 7]
The arena was heavily damaged and flooded duringHurricane Otis in October 2023.[ 8] [ 9] Despite this, theMexican Open was still held at the arena in February 2024.[ 10] [ 11] [ 12] That September, the arena also suffered damages fromHurricane John .[ 13] Repairs to the arena from both hurricanes cost between $305 and $320 million MXN.[ 2]
Since 2022, the arena has hosted theMexican Open on theATP Tour .[ 6] The tournament had previously been held at theFairmont Acapulco Princess .[ 14] [ 15] In April 2024, the arena hosted theGNP Seguros Tennis Open on theATP Challenger Tour .[ 16] [ 17]
On 28 December 2022, the arena hosted theNoche de Campeones , aAAA pay-per-viewprofessional wrestling event.[ 18] [ 19]
In April 2023, the arena began hosting the Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup. In January 2025,Beach Soccer Worldwide announced that the arena would continue hosting the tournament through 2027.[ 20]
In March 2024, the arena hosted the Premier Padel GNP Mexico tournament as part of the2024 FIP Tour .[ 21]
In November 2022, the arena hosted the OlaFest music festival. Performers includedLa Arrolladora ,Alejandra Guzmán ,Piso 21 , andNicky Jam .[ 22] [ 23] In May 2023,OV7 performed at the arena as part of their 30 Años Tour.[ 24] Luis Miguel was scheduled to perform at the arena in December 2023 as part of his2023–24 tour , however, due to the effects ofHurricane Otis , the shows were rescheduled to November 2024.[ 25] [ 26]
In May 2025,Los Tigres del Norte will perform at the arena as part of their La Lotería Tour.[ 27] In July 2025,Grupo Firme will perform at the arena as part of their La Última Peda Tour.[ 28]
In May 2022, the arena hosted theTianguis Turístico [es ] convention.[ 29]
