Anaerobacter is a genus of Gram-positivebacteria related toClostridium. They areanaerobicchemotrophs and are unusualspore-formers as they produce more than one spore per bacterial cell (up to five).[2] They fixnitrogen. TheirG+C content is 29%.[3]Only one species of this genus (Anaerobacter polyendosporus) has been described.[1]
