InHomer'sOdyssey,Amphimedon (/æmˈfɪmɪˌdɒn,-dən/;Ancient Greek:Ἀμφιμέδων) was theIthacan son ofMelaneus andone of the suitors ofPenelope.[1]

Mythology

While retreating fromOdysseus's party during the final stages of the battle in the latter's hall, Amphimedon gave a glancing blow to the carapace ofTelemachus, to whom he fell shortly afterwards.[2][3] In theUnderworld, he told the story of the suitors' slaughter byOdysseus andTelemachus.[4]
