Alessandro Ghiretti (born 18 January 2002 inMontauban) is a French racing driver and former member of theSauber Junior Team.

Early life

Ghiretti was born inMontauban to a family fromItalian origins. His father Alain Ghiretti is an entrepreneur in metal construction. In the 1980s, his father was a racing driver inFormula Renault andFormula 3000.[1][2] Since August 2017 Alessandro's family resides inMarrakesh.[3]

Ghiretti began karting at the age of seven, claiming numerous titles in his career,[3] including the first place of the 2016 X30 Junior IAME National Final inLavilledieu[4] and the third place of the Challenge Europa X30 Junior B in Castelletto.[5]

Lower formulae

In 2017, Ghiretti stepped up to single-seaters, contesting theItalian F4 championship.

In December 2018, Ghiretti signed with the British teamDragon Hitech GP to run in the2019 F3 Asian Championship, both the winter and main sessions.[6]

In 2019, Ghiretti contested theADAC Formula 4 Championship andItalian F4 Championship withUS Racing-CHRS.[7] In November, he attended the post-season tests of theFormula Renault Eurocup, atAutodromo Nazionale di Monza withART Grand Prix[8][9] and atCircuit Paul Ricard withBhaitech.[10] In March 2020, he took part in the pre-season test atCircuit Ricardo Tormo withMP Motorsport.[11][12]

Formula One

As part of his signing withUS Racing-CHRS, Ghiretti was named as part of theSauber Junior Team's 2019 line-up.[13]
