Alarplasty (or, less commonly,alaplasty) is aplastic surgery procedure in which a wedge of thewing of the nose is removed in order to alter the shape of thenostrils.[1][2] Alarplasty may be used to increase or decrease the width of the nostrils, for either cosmetic or functional reasons.[3][4] In humans it may also make the nose perceptibly narrower.[3]

Temporaryswelling is a common consequence of alarplasty.[3]
