Agustín Daniel Rossi (born 21 August 1995) is an Argentine professionalfootballer who plays as agoalkeeper forCampeonato Brasileiro Série A clubFlamengo.
Born inBuenos Aires, Rossi representedChacarita Juniors as a youth. He made his first team debut on 2 April 2014, starting in a 1–3 away loss againstInstituto, forthe season'sCopa Argentina.
Rossi moved toEstudiantes on 25 December 2014.[2] He made hisPrimera División debut the following 18 April, playing the full 90 minutes in a 1–1 home draw againstRosario Central.
On 24 July 2016, Rossi was loaned to fellow top-tier clubDefensa y Justicia.[3]
On 1 February 2017, Rossi was transferred toBoca Juniors for €1.17m.[4]
On 21 January 2023, Rossi moved toSaudi Professional League clubAl Nassr on a six-month loan until 30 June 2023 asBoca Juniors decided not to use the player anymore until the end of his contract.[5][6] At theSaudi club Rossi covered the injuredDavid Ospina.
On 9 January 2023Flamengo announced a contract being signed with Rossi from 1 July 2023 until 31 December 2027 as the current deal withBoca Juniors ran out in the end of June.[7] He was officially presented by Flamengo on 1 July 2023,[8] becoming Flamengo's first non-Brazilian goalkeeper since fellowArgentineUbaldo Fillol in 1985. Rossi couldn't manage to broke into the first team with head coachJorge Sampaoli until the second leg of the2023 Copa do Brasil finals on 24 September 2023. Ironically this was the last match of theArgentine head coach before being fired. With the arrival of the next head coachTite, Rossi instantly became the main goalkeeper. He finished the2023 season with a total of 8 clean sheets in 16 matches, including all competitions.
Rossi broke Flamengo's record of most clean sheets in a row including all competitions with 11 from 31 January 2024 to 30 March 2024.[9]
In the night of 8 May 2025 Rossi's car was shot at in an attempted robbery when he was returning home fromGaleão Airport after aCopa Libertadores match againstCentral Córdoba in Argentina. He was not injured as his car was armored.[10] Despite the scary moment, Rossi later said he had no intention of leavingFlamengo orRio de Janeiro: "These are things that can happen here or in Argentina."[11]
Currently Rossi is applying for Brazilian citizenship. If successful, he could start playing for the Brazilian national football team in 2028.[12]
