The2026 Nevada elections will be held in theU.S. state ofNevada on November 3, 2026, alongside thenationwide midterm elections. Elections will be held forgovernor,lieutenant governor,attorney general,secretary of state,treasurer, andstate controller as well as forall four seats in theHouse of Representatives, all 42 seats in theNevada Assembly, 11 of 21 seats in theNevada Senate, and other judicial andlocal elections. Primary elections will be held on June 9, 2026.[1]

Not included in this election are Nevada's twoUnited States Senate seats, as they are currently held byCatherine Cortez Masto (term ends in 2028) andJacky Rosen (term ends in 2030).

Candidate filing period are from March 2–3, 2026 for nonjudicial offices and January 5–16, 2026 for judicial offices.

Partisan control

Nevada is aswing state and frequently elects a stategovernment split betweenRepublicans andDemocrats. Since 1864, Nevada has sent an equal number of Democrats and Republicans to the United States Senate and House of Representatives with 14 senators from each party and 20 representatives from each party.[2]

Of the total 31 governors of Nevada, 15 have been Republicans and 12 have been Democrats, with two from the defunctSilver Party and one from its offshoot, the Silver Democrat Party. While the Nevada Senate has been controlled by Republicans 48 times and Democrats 28 times, the Nevada Assembly is the reverse, with a Democratic majority 50 times and Republican 26 times.[2]

United States House of Representatives

All 4 of Nevada's seats in theUnited States House of Representatives are up for election in 2026. House members serve two year terms.[3]

Following the2024 U.S. House elections, three seats are held by Democrats, and one is held by a Republican. Incumbents includeDina Titus (1st district),Mark Amodei (2nd district),Susie Lee (3rd district), andSteven Horsford (4th district).[4]

Incumbent Republican GovernorJoe Lombardo was first elected in2022 with 48.8% of the vote. He is running for re-election.[5]

Incumbent Attorney GeneralAaron Ford andWashoe County CommissionerAlexis Hill are running for the Democratic nomination.[6][7] Former GovernorSteve Sisolak, who lost re-election against Lombardo in 2022, is also considering a run for the Democratic nomination.[8]

Lieutenant governor

Incumbent RepublicanLieutenant GovernorStavros Anthony was first elected in2022 with 49.4% of the vote. He is running for re-election.[9] Assembly Majority LeaderSandra Jauregui is running in the Democratic primary.[10]

Attorney general

Incumbent DemocraticAttorney GeneralAaron Ford was re-elected in2022 with 52.3% of the vote. He is term-limited and is instead running forgovernor.[6]

Senate Majority LeaderNicole Cannizzaro and Democratic State TreasurerZach Conine are running for the Democratic nomination.[11][12]Douglas County commissionerDanny Tarkanian is running for the Republican nomination.[13]

Secretary of state

Incumbent DemocraticSecretary of StateCisco Aguilar was first elected in 2022 with 49.0% of the vote. He is eligible to run for re-election to a second term in office but has not yet stated if he will do so.[14][9]

Former AssemblywomanSharron Angle, who ran for United States Senate in2010, is running for the Republican nomination.[14]

Incumbent RepublicanControllerAndy Matthews was first elected in2022 with 50.1% of the vote. He is running for re-election.[15]

State treasurer

Incumbent DemocraticTreasurerZach Conine was re-elected in2022 with 47.7% of the vote. He is term-limited and is instead running forattorney general.[12]

AssemblymanJoe Dalia is running for the Democratic nomination.[16] Nevada AssemblySteve Yeager is also considering a run for the Democratic nomination.[17]Drew Johnson, founder of theTennessee Center for Policy Research, a conservative think tank, and nominee forNevada's 3rd congressional district in2024, is running for the Republican nomination.[18]

11 of 21 seats in theNevada Senate are up for election in 2026. Following the2024 elections, Democrats control 13 seats in the chamber, and Republicans control 8.[19]

State Assembly

All 42 seats in theNevada Assembly are up for election in 2026. Following the2024 elections, Democrats control 27 seats in the chamber, and Republicans control 14, with one seat previously won by a Republican being vacant.[20]
