The2023 Copa Argentina (officially theCopa Argentina AXION energy 2023 for sponsorship reasons)[2] was the thirteenth edition of theCopa Argentinafootballtournament, and the eleventh since the relaunch of the tournament in 2011. The competition began on 24 January and ended on 13 December 2023.Patronato, the defending champions, were eliminated in the round of 32.
Estudiantes (LP) defeated Defensa y Justicia 1–0 in the final to win their first title in the tournament.[3] As winners, they qualified for the2024 Copa Libertadores group stage and earned the right to play against the winners of the2023 Argentine Primera División in the2023 Supercopa Argentina.
Sixty-four teams took part in this competition: All twenty-eight teams from thePrimera División; fifteen teams of thePrimera Nacional; five from thePrimera B, four from thePrimera C; two from thePrimera D and ten teams fromFederal A.[4]

The draw for the final rounds was held on 3 November 2022, 17:00 at AFA Futsal Stadium in Ezeiza. The 64 qualified teams were divided in four groups. Teams were seeded by their historical performance and division. Champions of AFA tournaments playing in Argentine Primera División were allocated to Group A. The matches were drawn from the respective confronts: A vs. C; B vs. D. Some combinations were avoided for security reasons.[6]
