Incumbent general treasurerSeth Magaziner was term-limited and could not seek a third term in office, initiallyrunning for governor before dropping out torun for U.S. House instead.[1] Former two-termDemocratic mayor ofCentral Falls James Diossa defeatedRepublican James Lathrop, finance director ofNorth Kingstown.
