The2022 Anaheim mayoral election was held on Tuesday November 8, to elect the nextmayor ofAnaheim, California. Municipal elections in California were officially nonpartisan; candidates' party affiliations do not appear on the ballot.
One-term mayorHarry Sidhu, who was elected in2018 with 32.5% of the vote, resigned in May 2022 amid corruption allegations and an investigation by theFBI regarding the sale ofAngel Stadium.[1] The office of mayor has since remained vacant, with mayorpro tempore Trevor O'Neil serving in anacting capacity.[2]
AttorneyAshleigh Aitken won the election, becoming thefirst woman elected mayor of Anaheim.[3]
