Elina Svitolina defeatedCaroline Wozniacki in the final, 6–4, 6–0 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2017 Canadian Open.[1] It was her third consecutive Premier 5 title, making her the first woman to win the first three Premier 5 tournaments in a season, as well as the first to win three consecutive Premier 5 tournaments since Wozniacki wonMontreal andTokyo in 2010 andDubai in 2011. This was also Wozniacki's sixth consecutive loss in a final in 2017, making her the first to lose that many finals in a row in one season, as well as the first woman to lose six finals in a single season sinceMaria Sharapova in 2012.
Simona Halep was the defending champion,[2] but lost in the semifinals to Svitolina.[3]
