The2008–09Russian Cup was the seventeenth season of the Russianfootball knockout tournament since the dissolution ofSoviet Union. The competition started on 16 April 2008 and finished with the final held on 31 May 2009.[1][2][3] The defending champions wereCSKA Moscow.
